What else you should know:
I was born in 1978 in Manchester, England.
When I was about 18 months old I moved to Melbourne.
Then at the age 8, I moved to Hong Kong where I attended the American School (HKIS). Yes I had an American accent.
At 10 years of age, we moved to Singapore where I studied at the United World College of South East Asia.
After spending 5 years in Singapore my parents thought I should probably finish my education at boarding school in Geelong.
I then attended the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) and completed my diploma in Audio Engineering
Since then I have been heavily involved in sound/music production. I write my own tunes which you can check out at www.myspace.com/djmotif.
I also worked at Hitachi Data Systems where I was initially taken on board for a web traineeship but quickly proved my value and set up numerous systems on their intranet and internet. I liaised heavily with the head office in Santa Clara and became chief web editor for Australia, Asia (excluding Japan) and the International Americas (South America and Canada)
After this I spent 2 years working with a company called Audio Visual Dynamics. My work there consisted mostly of setting up and operating all the Audio/Visual aspects involved in Corporate Functions, Promos and Launches, Press Conferences and Small Concerts.
While doing all this, I have been a club DJ. Mixing up to, and beyond - 2 Turntables, 2 CDJs, Samplers, Drum Machines, Computer Sequencers and Effects units at the same time. I play all genres of music from Hip Hop Drum n Bass, Techno - 80s and literally everything in between. I get the best response however, from the bootlegs and remixes I write, which is extremely satisfying.
I have a diploma in broadcast journalism from I.D.E.A in Melbourne and received an overall High Distinctions for the course.
I have been doing regular graveyard shifts on Triple 3 in Melbourne and have been a contributor for the SBS show "Alchemy" for over six months.
